Tourism New Zealand And Fanatic Sports Bring It On For World Cup 2015

 World Cup 2015 is less than 70 days away. For fans of the 'Gentleman's game', it will be the larger-than-life event which will have everyone sticking to their TV sets, or catching up every moment on their smart devices, or watching it live as few lucky ones will do. The main venues of this cricketing event has been based in New Zealand and Australia, and they are pooling their resources to ensure a healthy influx of tourists in the forthcoming season. The corporate gala on the 5th of December, was for that precise reason.



 Since the country will hosting 23 matches in the mega-tournament, Tourism New Zealand has taken a major initiative with Fanatic Sports, their main travel partner in India, to promote premier holiday and tournament related packages. From business travellers to sports enthusiasts, New Zealand Tourism and Fantatic Sports have their sights on everybody who will be travelling around the 2 countries, and the event was a step towards such a mobility.

 Laying emphasis on how important the partnership between the entities is, General Manager (Asia) forTourism New Zealand, David Craig said, “We are excited to co-host one of the world’s biggest sporting events and India is one of our key target markets for this purpose. Through our partnership with Fanatic Sports, we aim to attract cricket fans and business travellers from India to New Zealand for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015.”

 Anant Roongta, Director of Fanatic Sports was upbeat about this partnership saying,  “India is a sports loving nation and we have seen a growth in demand for our sports tour packages especially for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2015. New Zealand is an exotic destination and offers some of the best facilities in the world to travellers. The World Cup is just over 70 days away and the response to our offering has been phenomenal.”

 The 7 regions which will host World Cup 2015 matches include Wellington, Hamilton, Christchurch, Nelson, Dunedin, Napier, and Auckland.

On January 4, 2011, which was I spent doing what I did everyday, work on client reports, send news clipping etc, I came across the news of a man named Salman Taseer, who had been assassinated in Pakistani capital of Islamabad. Even though being very used to coming across instances like that in the news, I still manged to make myself view that piece of news in a little more detail. Little did I know, that this man wasn't just another politician from my neighboring country. He was someone radically different in more ways, that what a vast majority of his home country seem to be like in modern times.
